This is where you can read any of my irregular wafflings about computer gaming. The whole point of this blog is to help motivate me to properly finish games, whether they be recent ones or older ones I played when I was younger that I never managed to beat.

Guybrush's new balls
Been playing a whole load of different and random stuff over the last month. Firstly, I got Obitus on the Amiga emulator working at last, and have plans for that for the future, but for now it's on the back burner.
My adventure through The Tales Of Monkey Island continues, though I had to leave it for a while during the third chapter, as the bit inside the manatee bored me to tears. But now I'm passed that and am well into chapter 4, and hopefully will have it done soon. I have encountered several strange little bugs throughout though. Late on in chapter one, while just mucking around trying to work things out, I tried to use a bomb on some statue-thing and the game told me: "These aren't the eyes I'm looking for" or something like that, which was very confusing and made no sense. The next one, which I think was in chapter 2, was when I was in a ship-to-ship fight, and a cannon ball fired by the enemy froze in mid air, hovering above my ship's deck, allowing me to walk around it. There have been other issues, mainly with the camera.
Even though I'm not fully done with Resident Evil 2 yet, I've already bought Resident Evil 3 and have got stuck into that. This time however, I decided to buy it on the PC, thinking that using a keyboard would make movement much easier than the awkward d-pad on the Playstation controllers. This has turned out to be true, though unfortunately it has also made the fighting parts more difficult, especially as RE3 is more fast paced than the first two. So I've downloaded some nifty bit of software so I can use the PS3 controller on my laptop for the next time I play it, and hopefully that will be a bit better. Bloody Nemesis. Unlike the first 2 though, I have no current plans to make mega maps for this one. I'm just playing it to get it done.
I haven't played Star Trek Online now for over a month. Last time I played it, me and Gallear surprisingly had a great laugh going through a few missions and had no bugs. He has since gone on to hit top level, so I really will have to get back into it soon, catch him up and try some end game stuff.
Mr. Gallear fights dirty
And then for some bizarre reason, last week I played through the Ghostbusters game again for about the fifth time, and have started Arkham City again.
As it's been about 6 years since my tower last got as much as a minor upgrade, a couple of weeks back I was looking at buying a first new PC for probably a decade (I don't count my cruddy laptop). I need to do some more research about all the new tech and exactly what it is I want. It's been a long time since I took any notice of IT advancements, and it's no longer Pentium Vs Athlon with AGP graphics like it was back when I knew what I was on about...
